Be part of International Good Deeds Day
To mark Good Deeds Day on April 11 this year, yegSpark is joining the Jewish Federation of Edmonton’s food drive for Edmonton’s Food Bank.
We’re asking yegSpark members to help spread the word and to donate if you can. If your school, community league or worship community wants to start its own collection, send us the time and place for drop-offs and we’ll add it here.
The goal is to deliver all donations to the Jewish Federation office at 10220 156 St NW on Sunday, April 11. They’ll be loaded into the big food bank truck and dropped off the next day.
Good Deeds Day is a global movement of doing good. All over the world, hundreds of thousands volunteer and help others, putting into practice the simple idea that every person can do something good, be it large or small, to improve the lives of others and positively change the world.
Since its launch in 2007, Good Deeds Day has grown from 7,000 participants in Israel to 3,900,000 in 108 countries in 2019. That’s the equivalent of more than 7.8 million hours of service!
Click on the red button to sign up and help us gauge participation. We’ll send you a list of the food bank’s most-needed items. And be sure to share this post on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, Twitter, email, smoke signal – you get the idea. More shares = more donations for Edmonton’s Food Bank, which provides food to more than 21,000 people each month. Use the hashtags #gooddeedsday, #yegSpark and #strongertogether and tag @yegfoodbank and @jewishedmonton to show your support.
